Photography Insurance Policy Includes
Please note that the following is for informational purposes only. Refer to the actual policy for conditions and exclusions.
General Liability for Photographers – $2,000,000 – Higher Limits Available
This coverage is for third party property damage and bodily injury lawsuits that go to court. People who are not part of the photo shoot would be considered a third party. This does not include Third Party Property that is in your care, custody and control (a common exclusion), nor will there be insurance for injury to any employees/assistants. Additional coverage may be purchased to fill these gaps in coverage.
Equipment Insurance for Photography – Owned & Rented
Insurance for cameras, lighting, lenses, and grip, etc. all include worldwide coverage, theft and accidental breakage at replacement cost. Be sure to utilize our short term rental options if you only rent a few times a year. Additional gear and removal of gear is possible throughout the policy term.
Short Term Photo Rental Equipment – 30 Day Periods
Some photographers only need rented equipment for specific jobs throughout the year. Our program allows for our insureds to add rented equipment as they need it. We work with photographers to make sure they are getting the lowest premium possible.
Computer Equipment Coverage for Photographers – $25,000 On-Premises / $10,000 Off-Premises
Not only will we provide worldwide coverage for your desktop and laptop computers, but we will also cover your smartphone, tablet, hard drives, monitors and printers. Coverage also includes recovery of electronic data if you happen to drop and damage a hard drive. This coverage does not include recovery of data due to a virus/trojan.
Portfolio Coverage for Photo Prints – $5,000 ($2,500 for casing/$100 each image)
A lot of photographers like to carry a portfolio of their prized work to show clientele. We will cover what holds the prints up to $2,500, and $100 for each image. The $100 is more specifically to recreate the image, such as paying someone to edit, photoshop, touch up, etc.
Office Contents & Furniture for Photo Location – $3,000 – Higher Limits Available
This photo coverage is intended for damage or theft to desks, chairs, tables, cabinets, LAN phones, office supplies etc. at your premises location. A relatively low risk coverage compared to camera equipment, but it is a good coverage to have when running your business out of your studio.

A more comprehensive E&O policy is also available to photographers but at a much higher cost.
Workers’ Compensation for Photo Employees – $1,000,000
Any assistant/employees working for your photography shoot will want compensation for any injuries sustained while on the job. It does not matter if you are paying them money or not.
