Production Insurance Policy Includes
Please note that the following is for informational purposes only. Refer to the actual policy for conditions and exclusions.
General Liability for Producers – $2,000,000 – Higher Limits Available
This production insurance coverage is for third party property damage and third party bodily injury lawsuits. This will only apply to people who are not part of the video production shoot. Employees and assistants will require a Workers’ Compensation policy for producers. If the third party property is in your care, custody and control, then you will need to purchase Third Party Property Damage.
Equipment Insurance for Production – Owned & Rented
Insurance for video cameras, lighting, lenses, grip, etc. comes at a low rate and deductible ($1,000). All film equipment includes worldwide coverage, theft, and accidental breakage at replacement cost. Be sure to utilize our short term rental options if you only rent a few times a year.
Short Term Video Rental Equipment – 30 Day Periods
Some producers only need rented equipment for specific jobs throughout the year. Our programallows for our insureds to add rented equipment as they need it. We work with a lot of video and production companies, and we make sure they are getting the lowest premium possible.
Computer Equipment Coverage for Videographers – $25,000 On-Premises / $10,000 Off-Premises
Not only will we provide theft and accidental breakage (like water damage) for your desktop and laptop computers, but we will also cover your smartphone, tablet, hard drives, monitors and printers. Coverage also includes recovery of data if you happen to drop and damage the hard drive. This coverage does not include recovery of data due to a virus/trojan.
Unlimited Certificates of Insurance – Included in Premium
Producers are consistently having to visit rental houses, rent out the equipment, rent out the studio space, rent out the vehicles, and name everyone one of these places as an additional insured. A production insurance policy allows you to have access to issue certificates of insurance online whenever you want. If a certificate of insurance request happens to require special wording, then please send us your request, and we will do that for you. Also, if you require additional coverages to be shown on the cert, then please email your customer service representative, so we can update your account. Submissions for certificates will be done same day if received before 4:00pm PST.
Office Contents & Furniture for a Production Location – $5,000 – Higher Limits Available
This video coverage is intended for damage or theft to desks, chairs, tables, cabinets, LAN phones, office supplies etc. at your premises location. A relatively low risk coverage compared to camera equipment, but it is a good coverage to have when running your business from the studio.

Errors and Omissions for Producers – $1,000,000
Protects against lawsuits arising from copyright infringement, trademark, trade name, title, slogan, false advertising, idea misappropriation, invasion of privacy/publicity right, or defamation arising out of any photographic/digital visual imagery services. A more comprehensive E&O policy is available. Please call our office for more information.
Workers’ Compensation for Video Employees – $1,000,000
Any assistants and/or employees working for you will want compensation for any injuries or death that might happen while on the job. It does not matter if you are paying them money or not. Do not rely on any production assistants being considered an independent contractor. Failure to carry Workers’ Comp can result in paying penalties. Please Google your state’s laws on who is considered an independent contractor.
Cyber Liability for Videographer Website – $100,000 – $1,000,000
A business website is an essential tool for videography. This package includes a lot of different coverages such as Website Publishing Liability, Security Breach Liability, Replacement or Restoration of Electronic Data, Extortion Threats, Business Income and Extra Expense, Public Relations Expense, Security Breach Expense, Business Income Extension, Laptop Replacement, Information Security Protection Coverage. Talk to a cinematographer insurance agent for more details.
Hired & Non-Owned Auto (H&NOA) Liability for Videography – $1,000,000
This is for vehicles your assistants/employees drive AND vehicles you rent for video shoots. Most videographers end up getting H&NOA insurance when a venue requires certificates of insurance along with other coverages like Auto Physical Damage. This does not mean you should wait until that happens to be properly insured.
